well, technically it was more like 10 min of doodling with black ink, 20 min of filling the page with black ink, 5 min of drying time, 10 min of drawing with blue ballpoint, and the rest spent going over it with whiteout.

but at the end, it still made me high… stupid whiteout… woo i’m dizzy.

tonight on 60 mins…

i’ve been taking steps to get off my lazy ass and get shit done. this is one of those steps.

no, not the subject of the sketch, but sketching itself. just me, my pen(s), and a piece of paper for a hour each day. timed.

hopefully this’ll help me organize my time better (i’m terrible) and sort through all junk in my head faster.

and this is particular image is technically #2 since i started yesterday, but the first one was bad. oh, so very bad. as in it sucked.

well, there goes the one post a week that i was rolling with. hopefully i can get back in to some sort of posting groove.

but anyway, here are 2 sketchbook pieces until i can get some stuff up.

black, white, & red all over

im carrying around 2 new sketchbooks now. 1 is random goodness, while the other will contain themed doodles. that is, i split the theme sketchbook into sections, each with a running theme – be it materials used, the only thing that can be drawn, the style in which to draw, and so on and so forth. these are from the first section, namely drawings that are inked with two brush pens: 1 black and 1 red.

the first one is inspired by “rusted lung” whose artist i dont remember the name of…. (i havnt actually picked up the book yet…) and the second is of, well, death from neil gaiman’s “death: the high cost of living”

anyway, until rey posted on the mighty wall that the hybrid animals theme was gonna stick around until the end of this month ( as opposed to what i thought, which was this week) i – in my sleep deprived state – decided to go ahead and make one. so i cracked open the ol’ sketchbook and whipped this baby up with gouache and india ink. as for the name, well, lets just say that although i may come across as incredibly perverted (im at mediocre level, really), i was originally gunning for one that had “sperm” in it considering that its supposed to be a sperm whale and a kangaroo mix…

so come on, be happy. laugh. its funny. and be thankful that my brain isnt working all that great with all this stress.

so yeah, anyway, ive finally gotten off of my lazy ass and gone to the studio to do work instead of locking myself in my “cave.” but enough of that, semi-pretty images beyond the cut!
